This week a good man lost his wife to Cancer after a 5 year struggle, she was only 55 and leaves 2 Grandsons, a Son and Daughter in Law, and worse... her Mother. Their Mother's Day will be changed this year.
This past October a dear friend's Son crossed over... her Mother's Day, is forever impacted by this loss.
Every day, people are impacted by the "loss" of the physical presence of someone they care so very deeply for that it hurts beyond what words can express.
It's painful when a sister, wife, daughter, Mom, GrandMother, or any one near and dear to us is no longer there to call on the phone, to have a Mother's Day Dinner with, to mail the card to... to share the smiles with. Someone that tried to lift us up when everyone else put us down. Someone who was on our side no matter what. Someone that made our eyes shine just by walking in the room.
I can't promise you it gets easier. I can tell you that you learn to adjust and move on, as this is your path and your path is still opening wide with each precious moment. I can assure you that when you can remember that you are a gift to those in your life, that you still have the ability to try to touch their hearts, their souls and their minds... your life's focus can feel, once again, a bit of hope for the future.
For all this Mother's Day...
May we remember that wherever we are, under whatever circumstances we are in... we can choose to feel like caving in or, we can live this day by sharing our love with those around us.
It costs so little, means so much, creates memories that are irreplaceable, and for me... honors those so very near to me, that I miss so very, very much!
