The power of gratitude is often underestimated.   Consider the fact that Quantum Physicists have proven that the power of thought is the most powerful form of energy known to man.  When you look at the power of gratitude in that fashion, it puts a new twist on it.

I'm not referring to the thank you's you give out as a courtesy, although they too have there own strength to be sure.  What I'm offering up for your thoughts to entertain, is those "Count your Blessings" statements you occasionally say.  Often, we say them to make ourselves feel better, whether we'd like to admit it or not.  We might say, I'm lucky to have a job, I'm lucky to be healthy, right after we've spent quite a bit of energy focusing on everything that is bothering us right now about some crisis that we're dealing with.

When we consciously affirm on a regular basis those things that are the most meaningful to us in our lives, those dreams that we still hold on to, in a positive way, we are sending thought-energy waves out.  Is this different than prayer?  I think not.  Prayer can be for someone else or ourselves.  When you're asking those unseen for help, are you sending out a thought that goes something like "I really need this?"

Most of us do at one point or another, if we're honest with ourselves.  Let's face it, this life of illusion doesn't often feel like an illusion and a bigger part of ourselves might be on the other side, but that isn't helping us with the "stuff" life is handing us,  or is it?

Thoughts become things.  The very chair you sit on the made of particles, atoms and lots of other scientific stuff I don't totally understand.  I do know this though.  Someone, somewhere had a thought.  The chair you're sitting on is a result of that thought.  The design, the color, etc.  You share in their thoughts by accepting the result of their gifts, yes... their gifts, to the world.  Even a chair is a gift, no?  Life could be tough without them.

So why is it then, that we have to say what feels like a million bad things before we get to what we're truly grateful for in our lives?  What's more, when was the last time you said "Thank you for giving me this dream!"

My daydreams are the source of inspiration, fuel, tenacity, love and are the very things that keep me going when times are tough, as well as when things are going quite well!  I'm thankful for the newest dream, goal, desire that popped into my head.   It came from somewhere didn't it?  You thought of it yourself, yes, I'm certain you did... yet, thoughts are energy waves, and many people come up with the same invention at nearly the same time.  It's the first one to get the patent that seems to win right?

I offer you this as my point as well as a little game to play with yourself for this month of December 2011.

Take seriously those thoughts that pop in that seem terrific.  The "wouldn't it be great if I had a thriving business working with alfalfa sprouts!" ideas.  Silly example, but I bet you'll remember it!  So say thank you for that idea and ask for the next step... and say thank you that the next step for you is on it's way....

Then wait... I assure you, it's worth it!

Blessings!
